Settled in Tallmanville after his marriage. They lived on the Southerly Road from Shehawken. The road used to leave the highway and turn right, across and over the hill (at the top of the hill at a sharp curve). Listed as a farmer with $3,500 land, $1,000 prop. in 1860 with wife and two sons. Listed as a farmer with $6,000 of land in 1870. Died at 44 of acute pneumonia contracted on a (lumber) rafting trip down the Delaware River.

DIED - Of Acute Pneumonia, on July 5th, 1874, Sidney P. Tallman, in his 44th year.
He was the eldest son of C. P. Tallman and brother of Mrs. Juliet Tallman Leach, whose death preceded his own but ten months.
In 1851 he married Mary Elvira Hine, and their union has been blest with six sturdy sons, all of whom survive him.
Funeral services were conducted by Hancock Lodge No. 552 F. & A. M. at the M. E. Church in Tallmansville, PA, of which he had long been a valued member.
Interment was in the cemetery at Island Pond, PA, beside his beloved sister Juliet.
Buried in Old Shehawken Cemetery, sometimes called Chestnut Hill or Stanton Hill Cemetery.

Listed in own home with her son George and his family, plus sons Ellsworth, S. F., Grant, and Oliver Perry in 1880 census after Sidney’s death. Remarried to Mr. Enslin after the death of Sidney. Was listed as Minnie, living with the family of her son Oliver Perry Tallman in 1900 as age 68 and widowed a second time prior to her marriage to George Box.
Listed as Mary E. Tallman (78) with her son Severd Delos in 1910 as a widow (of her 3rd marr), mother of 6 children, 5 of whom were living. She and both parents were born in Pennsylvania.
Had hardening of the arteries. When gangrene set in they had to remove her foot, but she eventually died of it anyway. Death Certificate lists senility as contributory to her death.
