He was referred to as Addison in the Wayne Co history. He was named after the pastor of his father’s church in 1839-40.
Found in the 1880 census as foreman at sewing machine store (40) and listed as A. B. Tallman. Listed with his wife and surviving children Claire, Bertha, Roy and Dwight; as well as her mother. He lived in Tallmanville, Wayne Co, PA until 1897, when he moved to Chicago.
In 1900, his family is listed in Chicago, and consisted of himself (60, PA) married 39 yrs, with only 3 of his 9 children surviving, his wife Olive (60, PA), dau Bertha and son Dwight.
In 1910, he is listed as a widowed lodger in Chicago.
He was an author of poems, apparently for pleasure. A commentary on one poem called “Memory’s Golden Thread” refers to him as being from Chicago and and having died on Christmas day at the home of his son, Dwight, in Hot Springs, SD. He died of pneumonia.
Funeral and burial were in Chicago at the home of his cousin Dr. Elihu Tallman.
