His is listed with his parents in 1820 and 1830.
"I think she (Melinda) must have been a very attractive lady, as we find that Perry followed her (to Ohio) walking all the way, some five hundred miles." They lived there for some time, but at the request of his father Elihu he moved back to Wayne County where they lived 'til after 1850. They lived in the Tallmanville area, probably in the house later occupied by Darwin Tallman, as their names appear in the 1850 U. S. Census between the family of David Dix and that of Samuel Stanton, grandmother Dix's oldest brother. The Stantons then lived near the intersection of this cross-road with the extension of the Wild Turnpike down to the Starrucca road. Listed with his father in Susquehanna Co in 1860 as a blacksmith & farmer with $3500 land, $1668 property. His family consists of wife and 8 sons.
In 1870 he and Malinda had only their 3 youngest sons living with them.
