There is a William Wells, age 39, farmer - married listed in the 1865 Docket of Military Registration (enrollment) for Fayette Co.
He is listed as a farmer in Jefferson Twp in 1870 ($4,500 of land) with wife Elizabeth (37, PA) and children Elizabeth A. (13), James (11), Mary J. (9), and Westanna (7).
He married twice after the death of his wife, Elizabeth.
Moved to Guernsey Co, OH where he is listed with his two youngest daughters Mary J. and Westanna in 1880, age 54 and a farmer. Married his last wife, Sarah McCune there in 1881 with whom he had 4 children; 2 of whom grew up and were still living in 1979. (according to Joe Davey)
