Was a blacksmith and farmer. He inherited 60 acres of his father's homestead and in 1746 sold it and bought 100 acres from his brother, William. In 1762 bought back his father's homestead. Lived near Aquetong, Solebury Twp until moving to Hartford County, MD in 1775. Fought in Revolutionary War with 4 of his sons. 12 children.
