He is listed as Gayer (10, IL) in the 1940 census with his parents, and it says they were in Burlington IA in 1935.
He moved from Iowa to Arkansas in 1993.
He has 3 boys - Thomas, Dave, and Jonathan, and lived in Fairfield Bay, Ark.
While in Fairfield Bay, he worked as the city building inspector until he retired at age 80. Now at age 88, he has numerous health issues and is living in the Indian Rock Village skilled nursing facility. His long term memory is very good and when asked, he will tell stories about his parents and grandparents.

Delbert "Bud" Gayer Wells, 88, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born May 2, 1930 to the late Delbert L. and Elsey Wells.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran, a Civil Engineer, Real Estate Land Developer, Homebuilder and Real Estate Broker. In retirement, he moved from the Iowa Quad Cities to Fairfield Bay where he served as city Code Enforcement Officer for seventeen years. He retired again in 2010 to spend time with his beloved boxer, Hope.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Dauner and two stepsons, Todd Walden and Tommy Walden.
Survivors: wife of forty-seven years, Willa Wilson Walden Wells; three sons, Tom Wells (Bonnie), David Wells (Josey) and Jonathan Wells (Lily); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; Willa's two surviving sons, Tim Walden (Marty) and Terryn Walden; her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Linda Walden; brother, Richard Wells (Peg) and their four children and grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Jack Dauner; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Fairfield Bay Baptist Church. Memorial inurnment with Military Honors is scheduled for noon on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas

Kay Wells
DAVENPORT - Services for Kay Wells, 60, of Davenport, will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today. She died Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport, after a brief illness.
She taught second grade at Johnson Elementary school, Davenport. She taught in the room where she also had attended school. Each year she conducted a Teddy Bear Convention in her classroom.
Kay Beck- married Delbert G. Wells in 1951 in Davenport.
She received a bachelor of arts degree in education from Marycrest College in 1972. In 1977 she received a master of arts degree from Marycrest College. Mrs. Wells was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter IR; Davenport Education Association; Iowa Education Association; and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed reading and collecting teddy bears and antiques.
Memorials may be made to the Johnson Elementary Pl'A, 1730 Wilkes Ave., Davenport.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas, Little Rock, Ark; David, Los Angeles; and Jonathan, Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren; one brother, Jack Beck, Davenport; and a very close aunt, Eileen Quaid, Davenport.
