Living in Los Angeles with his wife Tina in 1918, working as a brakeman on the So Pacific Railroad. They are still there in the 1920 census, although he is listed as William, age 45 and born in Iowa, and she as 35 in Illinois. Living with them is his step-daughter Frances Buck (18, IL).
By 1930, he and Tina (42, IL) were living in Silvis, IL where he was working as a railroad switchman at age 51.
