Fannie Fay (Grice) Fulton was born in Mansfield, Ohio on September 12, 1882, one of four chilren born to Salathiel W. and Catherine H. (Case) Grice.
Fannie was married to Chester A. Fulton on July 5, 1908, in the Luthern Parsonage, Fairfield, Iowa. The Rev. Luther Bright officiated and the bride's sister, Clara Grice, witnessed the wedding.
Fannie and Chester were in the resturant business for several years in the area of Fairfield known as "New Chicago". During these years, three children were born to the couple; Lyle B. in 1909, James I. in 1912 and Claretta G. in 1914.
Fannie and Chester lived in Fairfield throughout their married life until Fannie became seriously ill with cancer. In early 1944, she reached a point where her illness required more assistance than she was able to have at home, so she went to stay with her daughter Claretta who had married and now lived with her husband Donald Howland on a farm near Formoso, Kansas.
Fannie lived her final days in Kansas with Donald and Claretta. She lost her battle with cancer on July 30, 1944. Her remains were returned to Fairfield, Iowa, for her funeral and for burial in the Case-Grice family plot in Evergreen Cemetery.
