Darla J. Kinzy, 81, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the home of her daughter.
Born August 26, 1941 in Monroe County, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Norris) Brownfield. Darla was a member of the Zane Trace Church of Christ. She was a devoted homemaker and babysat other children for many years. Darla loved to be outdoors and tending to her beautiful flowers. Darla loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren.
Surviving is her daughter and son in-law, Deanna and Randy Briggs of Zanesville; two grandsons and their wives, Mark and Aubrey Briggs and Michael and Chelsie Briggs all of Zanesville; great grandchildren, Luke, Lillie, Ellie, Marshall, Oliver, Copen and Vanessa Briggs; one brother and sister in-law, Dale and Lorna Brownfield; sister in-law, Janet Murray; an uncle, Ray Norris and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald D. Kinzy whom she married December, 27 1961 and who died November 13, 2016; an infant sister, Linda Lou Brownfield and two special nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be 1:00pm Monday, April 24, 2023 at Washington Baptist Cemetery, 5500 Church Hill Road, Zanesville, Ohio.

FRAZEYSBURG: Donald Dean Kinzy, 78, of Zanesville, formerly of Frazeysburg passed away Sunday evening, November 13, 2016 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
Born July 21, 1938 in Beallsville, Ohio he was a son of the late Carl V. and Wilma (Pittman) Kinzy and was a 1956 graduate of Beallsville High School. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Zane Trace Church of Christ. He was a farmer, growing up on a farm in Monroe County. Later he worked for many years in the oil fields. He also worked for Coshocton Memorials Monument Company for 37 years as well as being caretaker of Frazeysburg Cemetery for many years. Donald was a former member of the Frazeysburg Village Council and was instrumental in the construction of the Frazeysburg Swimming Pool. After retirement he began helping his daughter and son in-law on the Briggs Family Farm in Zanesville. Mr. Kinzy spent many years researching his family genealogy and was a member of the Monroe County Genealogy Society and the Monroe County Historical Society. His love for God and his family was immense. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, and later in life, his great grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of nearly 55 years, Darla (Brownfield) Kinzy whom he married December 27, 1961; a daughter and son in-law, Deanna and Randy Briggs of Zanesville; two grandsons, Mark Briggs and his wife, Aubrey and Michael Briggs and his wife, Chelsie; his great grandchildren, Luke Ryan Briggs, Lillie Elizabeth Kinzy Briggs, Ellie Anne Briggs and, unborn, Marshall Timothy Briggs, who is to be born in December. Also surviving is a sister, Janet Murray; a brother in-law, Dale Brownfield and his wife, Lorna; his uncle, Joe Pittman and his wife Barbara; and several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his nephews, Travis Murray and Clay King; his brother in-law, Carmel Murray and his father in-law and mother in-law, Joseph and Bertha Brownfield.
Graveside funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, November 18, 2016 at Washington Township Baptist Church Cemetery.
