JERUSALEM, Ohio - Bertha E. Brownfield, 84, of Jerusalem died Friday (Sept. 12, 2003) at the Monroe County Care Center in Woodsfield. She was born June 11, 1919, in Monroe County to Lewis and Lulu Griffith Norris. She had been a former employee of the Barnesville Manufacturing Co. and LGAM of Woodsfield as a seamstress.
She is survived by one son, Dale Brownfield and his wife, Lorna, of Jerusalem; one daughter, Darla Kinzy and her husband, Donald, of Zanesville; one brother, Ray Norris and his wife, June, of Woodsfield; one sister, Edith Geitgey and her husband, Ellis, of North Canton, Ohio; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Brownfield, in 1996; and an infant daughter, Linda Lou.
Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield. Burial is in Jerusalem Cemetery in Jerusalem. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

WOODSFIELD - Joseph H. Brownfield, 78, of State Route 145, Jerusalem, died Sunday, May 12, 1996, at Barnesville Hospital. Born Sept. 22, 1917, in Belmont County, he retired from the Monroe County Engineer's Department and was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha Norris Brownfield of Jerusalem; a son, Dale Brownfield of Jerusalem; a daughter, Darla Kinzy of Zanesville; two sisters, Chloe Kirkbride of Jerusalem and Mignyon Brownfield of Massillon; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cass and Ella Warner Brownfield; a sister, May Huffman; a half sister, Pearl Day; two half brothers, Rome Brownfield and Sylvan Brownfield; and an infant daughter, Linda Lou Brownfield.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bauer-Turner Funeral Home, 100 S. Paul St., Woodsfield, where services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 1996, with Warren Wallathin officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery with full graveside military services.
