William J. Forsyth, 69, of Jefferson township, former school director there, died Tuesday in Brownsville General Hospital. He was a retired farmer and active in church and educational circles. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. May Wells Forsyth, four sons, one daughter, one brother and one sister.

Mae Forsyth
Mrs. Mae Forsyth of Uniontown died yesterday at 6:20 p.m. in Laurel Rest Home, Uniontown. She was 85. Mrs. Forsyth was born Sept. 16, 1893, a daughter of the late James and Mary Stuckslager Wells.
She was a member of the Central Christian Church, Uniontown, and the Eleanor Knox Women’s Club, Perryopolis.
Survivors include three sons, Wibur Forsyth of Perryopolis R.D. 1, Joseph Forsyth of Brownsville R.D., and James Forsyth of Uniontown; one daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Hartley of Washington D.C.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Wells of Fayette City; and one sister, Mrs. Clara Gorman of Speers.
Friends will be received in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home in Perryopolis, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. C. Howard McCloy, officiating. Interment will be in the Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville.
