Anna Mae Wells, age 49, of Mount Vernon died Sunday November 23, 2003 from injuries received in an automobile, motorcycle accident near Mount Vernon. She was born August 10, 1954 in Huntington, West Virginia to Truman and Ruth (Eckart) Pennington. Anna was employed as a clerk for the city of Mount Vernon in the Water and Wastewater Department. She had previously been employed as an administrative assistant in the medical billing department of Knox Community Hospital. She was a member of the Covenant Christian Church of God in Mount Vernon and had served as a volunteer for the Marriage Encounter Group in Mount Vernon.
Surviving are her husband William L. Wells; her daughter Melinda (Jeromy) Shoen of Mount Vernon; her son Kenneth (Heather) Wells of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 3 grandchildren Luke Shoen, Kyle Shoen, and Ashley Wells; her mother Ruth Pennington of Lima and 3 sisters Linda (Mike) Wilkinson of Columbus, Jill Pennington of Lima and Jean (Ted) Miller of Elkhart, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her father.
