1880 census lists him as Jasper; a farmer (41) with his wife, 2 daughters, and his mother-in-law, Elmira Oldfield (75) plus an employee. The Richland Co, OH birth records list 3 children to Jasper Gaddis and Martha Oldfield (as entered) - all in Jefferson Twp.
Jasper Gaddis of Batemantown: Member of the Township Board of Education for 1886. The order was granted at Sept. 20, 1886 meeting: (included in list) Jasper Gaddis, Wood & Chalk - $10.80.
Jasper and Martha are living with family of daughter Rachel in 1910 - at the time only 2 of their daughters were still living, since Cordelia died in 1906.
He is living alone with Rachel’ family in 1920, as Martha had died by then.
Cemetery record lists Jasper b. 1838, d. 1922, his wife Martha A., and dau Cordelia O. Executor of his father's will in 1900.
