Garret Smock married Jannetje Van Dyke (b. abt 1733) circa 1752. He is the progeniture of the Smocks residing near Hodgenville, Kentucky. He was assigned seat 15 in the newly constructed church, having contributed to the building fund on 23 November 1752 in Sourland Dutch Church. He relocated after 1757 and came to reside in Raritan Valley, New Jersey; (thereafter to York, PA, and then to the state of Kentucky). He relocated before 1785 and came to reside in Washington County, Kentucky. He is noted in the records as having purchased land, some 2,000 acres on 29 March 1785 in Washington County, Kentucky.
