In 1920 had moved to Binghamton, NY where he worked as a cutter (42, PA) in a shoe shop. His son and daughter were both still living at home, with Marvin being a bookkeeper for a meat market.
In 1930, he was still in Binghamton, with daughter Vera; and his wife is listed as Christina (52, PA), first married at age 22, parents born in NY and PA - my guess is that she simply stopped using her nickname.

JOHN DENK, 78, of 51 Clark Street, died at 7:30 a. m. today at his home. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dena K. Denk; a son, Marvin J. Denk; two grandchildren, M. William Denk and Mrs. Leo V. Blodgett, a great-granddaughter, Mary Catherine Blodgett, all of Binghamton; a brother, William Denk of Honesdale, Pa., and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, and was a retired Endicott Johnson Corp. employee. The body was moved to the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, 71 Main Street, where friends may call today from 7 to 9 p. m. and Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m.
