Living with his parents in 1850, and listed as born in Maine (sic). Listed living with his brother, Thomas J. Robb in 1860. He is 28, a farmer with $200 land, $150 property and born in Ireland. Thomas is listed as 23, a common laborer with $200 land, $150 property and born in Ireland. They are listed next to their aunt Sarah Robb Bailey.
Served in Co. F, 6th Regiment, Maine Infantry Volunteers from 1862-1864. His military record says he was in action 7 Nov 1863 at Rappahannock Station, and the name Robb appears in the list of privates wounded. Certificate of Disability reports him discharged 6 May 1864 at Armory Square hospital, Washington DC.
He eloped with his cousin, Mary Dawson from a church picnic near Calais and were married at Augusta in 1864. They had taken little Mary Ann Logue to the picnic but left her there. When they married, they went to Vermont where they lived several years.
Listed with his wife and children living with Francis Robb in 1870. Listed nearby in 1880 as a farmer, age 49 born in Ireland. With wife Mary and 4 children. He lived at the farm his father had cleared at the top of Robb Hill. His Civil War disability pension was $6.00/mo.
In 1900 he is listed as Hugh Jr (68, Ire) a farmer in Baileyville without his wife, but with children Edwin (31, VT), Catherine (24, ME), and Dolly (6, ME).
“Hugh spent most of his life up on the mountain waiting for deer and moose. HIs father’s prosperous farm grew up around him. He was a poacher.” He was dropped from the pension rolls because he died 17 March 1905.

Marriage record for her son from Calais Church of the Immaculate Conception lists her maiden name, as does her death certificate. 1880 census lists her parents as being born in Ireland.
She died of typhoid pneumonia, according to her death certificate.
