Married Margaret K. about 1906, and they were living in Albany, NY in 1910, where he worked as a civil engineer for the state of NY.

Captain Engineers 15 Sept 1917 from Officers' Reserve Corps 209 Engineers Hoboken NJ; France. American Expeditionary Forces 3 Oct 1917 to 3 Jan 1919. Honorable discharge 6 Feb 1919.
He is living and working in Boston as a civil engineer in 1920, listed as married, but not living with anyone other than his housekeeper and boarder.
He was apparently married to Annabelle R. Spencer in the late 1920’s, and she appears to have died in childbirth of daughter Nancy Anne Cooper (22 May 1929 Syracuse, NY - 6 Aug 2001 in Lancaster, CA), as she is buried with him in Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse. Nancy is living with the family of George and Dorothy Bugher at 10 months in the 1930 census for Syracuse, and listed as a cousin. David has not been found in the 1930 census.
By 1940, David was remarried to Louise M. (30, NH) and is working as a hydraulic engineer (58, OH) in Syracuse. With them are daughter Nancy (10, NY) and son David (4, NY). It shows him as having completed 4 yrs of college.
His FindaGrave burial record in Oakwood cemetery with Annabelle indicates he died 8 May 1945 in Volney, NY. His wife Louise is later listed in the 1948 Fulton city directory as his widow.
