Jane Porch Singleton
Jane Anne Porch Singleton, 67, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Moline, died Friday, July 27, 2012, in Birmingham, Ala., awaiting a liver transplant. A celebration of life will be at a later date in San Diego. She was born Feb. 1, 1945, the daughter of Floyd and Margaret Peg McGimpsey Porch. She graduated from Moline High School in 1962 and from the University of California, San Diego. She was a science and math teacher at San Diego Unified. She was a Master Gardener and great floral designer. She enjoyed gardening, kayaking and travel. Survivors include her husband, Jim Singleton, formerly of Rock Island; daughter, Victoria Tori Singleton, San Diego; cousins. Bill McGimpsey and Mary Sue McGimpsey, formerly of Davenport; mother-in-law, Millie Singleton, Port Angeles, Wash., formerly of Rock Island; and sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Mark Walker, Port Angeles. She was preceded in death by her parents.
