Was listed in Moline, IL in his mother’s 1960 obit. According to the 1963-64 Polk's City Directory, he was the owner of Porch Tent & Awning Company, 322 - 16th Avenue, Rock Island. He resided at 713 - 23rd Avenue Court, Moline; his wife was Margaret J.; and Jane A., presumably a daughter, resided at the same address and was listed as a student.
He died on August 31, 1971; the obituary appeared in the Daily Dispatch newspaper on September 1:
Floyd W. Porch, 77, of 713 23rd Ave Ct, Moline, owner of Porch Tent & Awning Co, Rock Island, died Tuesday in Lutheran Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Wendt Bros. Funeral Home, Moline, with Rev. Eric Holmer of Salem Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery...
Mr. Porch was a native of Iowa City. He founded the business in 1917 in Rock Island. On Dec. 29, 1937 he married Margaret McGimpsey in Davenport. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Singleton, San Diego, Calif., and Miss Vivan Porch, Chicago, and a grandchild.

Marie R. Porch
Marie R. Porch, 86, of Niles, III, died Wednesday at a Park Ridge, 1L., hospital following a short illness. Formerly from Eastern Iowa, she had been a resident of the Chicago area for 40 years. Born Sept. 15, 1890, in Iowa county she was a member of the Catholic faith; and a member of the Chicago Animal Welfare Assn. Surviving are a daughter, Vivian Porch, Niles, 1L.; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Robertson, Cedar Rapids; and two brothers, Charles Paukert and Joe Paukert, both of Cedar Rapids. Services: Saturday noon at the Chapel of Memories by the Rev. William P. Leonard of Immaculate Conception church. Burial: Cedar Memorial cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial funeral home after 10 a.m. Saturday and at the Chapel of Memories after 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The casket will be closed at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

Margaret Porch
Services for Margaret Porch, 74, formerly of 713 23rd Ave. Court, Moline, will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Wendt Brothers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude March of Dimes Foundation. Mrs. Porch died Saturday at the Moline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. . She retired in 1979 as owner of Porch Tent & Awning, after 50 years. Margaret McGinpsey married Floyd W. Porch in 1936 in Davenport. He died in 1971. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and the Elks Club, both of Moline. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Singleton, San Diego, and a granddaughter.
