NameMartin Wilcox
Birth1713, Chester Co, PA
Misc. Notes
1747 - Martin Wilcox's bill of sale to Thomas Janney, 1753 - Martin's dispute with Robert Lesley settled by the Quakers.
Everything points to Martin Wilcox being the son of Stephen Wilcox of Broad Creek, Delaware. The Quaker records for Nottingham Meeting show Martin's sister Abigail was disowned for marrying her "half first cousin Lashly" in 1766. This explains why there do not seem to be any "Wilcox" parents for Martin in the Quaker records of 1730 and later, He probably lived in his youth with his stepfather Thomas Janney and mother Magdalen Hartshorne (Harden) Wilcox Janney in Cecil County.
