One year old when mother died, seven years old when father died. Reared at the home of his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Abraham Whisler. Resided on the farm near Woolstock for five years after marriage to Mamie, moved to Lone Rock, IA for two years, then moved to Webster City in 1920. Roy worked as a janitor in the Central school building. Son, John Francis died shortly after birth. Roy died of pneumonia when his son William was about 12. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
