Mrs. Sporer Dies; Funeral Monday
Mrs. Leopoldine Sporer. 919 South Webster Ave., died early today in Mercy Hospital after an illness.
A native of this city, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Vidka Hirschler. She was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Her husband. Joseph, died on March 27, 1964. Surviving are two daughters. Mrs. Aloysius Briskey. and Mrs. Gerald Smith, both of this city; two sons, Joseph A., Auburn, N.Y., and Donald E., this city; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
The funeral will be from the Haas Funeral Home, 202 Pitts ton Ave., Monday, with mass in St. Mary's Assumption Church. Interment, parish cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow from 8 to 10 P.M. and Sunday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 P.M.

Joseph Sporer Taken by Death
Joseph Sporer, 77, 919 S. Webster Ave., co-owner of Sporer's Meat Market, 921 S. , Webster Ave., died Friday at his home after an Illness.
Mr. Sporer, a son of the late Michael and Margaret Langendorfer Sporer, was born in Honesdale June 4, 1886, and was educated in St. Mary's Assumption School, this city. He also attended Technical High School. He was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Church and its Holy Name Society.
Mr. Sporer was one of four brothers who operated the market which was founded by their late father In 1888, when he took over the shop from Joseph Garoli. His brothers, Edward, Alfred and William, all of this city, are aided in the business by a cousin, Edward Sporer, also of this city.
Also surviving are his widow, the former Leopoldine Hirshler; two sons, Donald, this city, and Joseph, Auburn N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Aloysius Briskey and Mrs. Gerald Smith, both of this city; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be from the August J. Haas Funeral Home, 202-204 Pittston Ave., Monday with mass in St. Mary's Assumption Church at a time to be announced. Interment, parish cemetery. Friends may call today from 8 to 10 p.m., Sunday 2 to 5, 7 to 10 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Cancer Society.
