Misc. Notes
m. (1) Alonzo Page Gould; (2) Oct. 10, 1872 Joseph B. Galer, son of George and Mary (Orr) Galer; (3) June 2, 1900 Walter Beed, born 1845, son of Thomas and Anna (George) Beed.
Abi moved to Hampton, IA sometime before 1870, when she was living with her sister Catherine Wood and working as a dry goods clerk. The move was probably made after 1864, when a leather wallet was given to her father Enoch inscribed "Enoch White Georgia Vermont Presented by A.P. Gould Oct. 14, 1864."
Her second husband, Joseph Galer was a native of Pennsylvania and a graduate of Rush Medical College. He was assistant surgeon in the thirty first Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteers. He was elected treasurer of the Franklin Cty., IA Medical Association at its inception in 1876.
Her third husband, Walter Beed, was a native of England and was a prominent farmer in Mott, IA. Walter and Abi moved to Minneapolis where Abi died Feb. 1, 1910. She died intestate and Walter inherited her estate worth $71,332. Some arrangement must have been made, however, perhaps in accordance with Abi's instructions to Walter, because when her nephew James Elwin White died in VT in 1911 his estate included an interest in the Estate of Abi A. Galer in the amount of $282.70.
No children.
