CONFLICT:
The Genealogy of Henry and Ann Kinne by Florence Keeney Robertson states, p. 20, that Silas and Lydia (Capen) Kenney of Pompay, NY and Canton, MA had "Sarah, b. 12-2-1770 , res. Georgia, Vt., m. Sylvester White. Prob. several ch. of whom one, Abi White, b. 8-2-1794, m. 3-15-1816 John Dawner Cleveland & their 11 Cleveland ch. with numerous descendants are shown in Cleveland Genealogy."
Canton, MA vital records do indeed show Sarah Kinney, daughter of Silas and Lydia, born Dec. 2, 1770.
Joyce White, on the other hand, has several sources and references which indicate that her birth date is 1 June 1773.

After his marriage and the birth of their first child, he moved from Massachusets to Georgia, VT.
Sylvester was drafted for the War of 1812 on 25 Sep 1813 as a Private under Capt. Elijah W. Wood’s command of Lt. Col. Luther Dixon’s Vermont Militia for a period of 54 days. He was honorably discharged on 18 Nov 1813 at Plattsburgh, NY. He later received bounty land of 40 and 120 acres for his service.

apparently indicating they had a married couple and grandson living with them.
His will is dated 14 Feb 1856 and mentions his daughters, Abi Cleavet(?), Desire Dinsmore, Anna Merritt, and dau-in-law Ada White (wife of John); as well as granddaughter Charlotte Cook, grandson John K. White and granddaughter Amelia White (children of John K. White), and great grandson Franklin Cook (son of Charlotte). He named John K. White (presumably his son) as executor.
