This must have been an unhappy marriage. Matthew was disowned by Falls Monthly Meeting (Quaker) on 3 April 1769 because of his marriage to his Cousin. He was disowned from Falls Monthly Meeting again on 3 June 1782 at which time or soon thereafter he went to Virginia for there is an indenture of his with an Isaiah Meyers for property dated 1 March 1796 in VA Deed Book “W”.
In 1810 Loudoun Co, VA census he is listed with: male 2<10, 2=10-16, 1=16-26, 1=26-45, 1>45 female 1<10, 1=10-16, 1=26-45, 1>45.
Listed in 1820 Loudoun Co, VA census as husband and wife, both over 45. male 1<10, 1=26-45, 1>45 female 1<10, 1=10-16, 1>45.
