Misc. Notes
William and Eleanor, the two surviving children of the family’s ocean voyage to America, were made Wards of the other Friends families (see Records of Orphans Court, Chester Co, PA 16 Jan 1688). Eleanor (d. 1745) was raised by the John Simcocks family, and William became a ward of John Stedman, both Quaker families living near Philadelphia.
William Banes, probably soon after the termination of his term of service with Joseph Stedman, married and located in Southampton Twp, Bucks Co, where a tract of land is marked with his name on an early survey, though no deeds appear of recort to or from him. He died prior to 23 May 1729, when letters of administration were granted on his estate. His widow Elizabeth, maiden name unknown, survived him many years. His wife’s Will lists their 10 children as: Joseph Banes/Baines, Matthew Beans, James Baines/Bane, Timonty Beans, Thomas Bean, William Bean, Jacob Bean, Elizabeth Beans, and Elinor Beans (Exec).
