From this, his age, and birthplace for him and his parents, I have concluded that he is an older son who had left home before the 1860 cencus, but then moved back in 1870. Listed with his mother in 1870 at age 25, as a carpenter.
Listed in 1880 census as age 35, a carpenter born in Canada, and parents from Ireland. He is next to Annie and her children. His wife is Barly (23 IL) parents from Ireland, with daughter Annie (5 IL), Lida (4 IL), and John (8 mos IL). They also had a black servant living with them. Listed with his wife and daughter in 1904 Cairo city directory, but his wife is listed as a widow in 1909, which references him as a mfgr of blueing.
They died, date unknown, and were buried in Mound City cemetery, just north of Cairo and in Pulaski Co, IL.
