Misc. Notes
James Wells, a cowboy from Swallows, was injured by a fall from his horse during the regular fall roundup near Indian Springs. He died the next night at Dr Graves hospital. His funeral was attended by many of the best known range riders and cowboys of Fremont and adjoining counties. The pall bearers rode on horseback at the side of the hearse on the way to the cemetery, with a company of thirty rough riders following. It was the first time that mounted pall bearers had been seen in Cañon City.
