Halbert served in the aviation corps during the World War and was a member of the officer’s reserve corps at the time of his death.
Worked for 5 years as a civil engineer for the C.F. & I. company on the tunnel work near Woodriff. He had been a resident of the Portland district since 1911. Killed in an auto accident while driving on Pueblo Road in his uncle’s Oldsmobile coupe.
