Albert Evans, 82 years old, former superintendent of the county infirmary southwest of the city, died last night at 10:50 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Spurgin, 844 Cottage avenue. His death was due to complication of diseases with which he had been ill for about two years, but was hastened by blood poisoning due to an injury he sustained to his hand while chopping wood a few weeks ago.
