Born August 12, 1928 at Mills Memorial Hospital in San Mateo to Joseph and Minnie Valladao, both natives of Half Moon Bay. She attended both Half Moon Bay Grammar School and Half Moon Bay High School.
Dorothy was proud of her heritage, her coastside roots and her family. As a mother, Dorothy dedicated full attention to her daughters’ health, academic and extra curricular activities. When her girls were in middle school, Dorothy worked as a part-time assistant to the Half Moon Bay Librarian and contributed her time as a 4-H leader for several years.
