Born August 12, 1928 at Mills Memorial Hospital in San Mateo to Joseph and Minnie Valladao, both natives of Half Moon Bay. She attended both Half Moon Bay Grammar School and Half Moon Bay High School.
Dorothy was proud of her heritage, her coastside roots and her family. As a mother, Dorothy dedicated full attention to her daughters’ health, academic and extra curricular activities. When her girls were in middle school, Dorothy worked as a part-time assistant to the Half Moon Bay Librarian and contributed her time as a 4-H leader for several years. As she transitioned into her elder life, she found peace and contentment volunteering her time and services to the Senior Coastsiders.
Dorothy was an adventurous lady. She loved people, traveling, music and most of all, she to be on or near the coastline. Dorothy always looked forward to and cherished visits with grandchildren and great grand children.
Dorothy leaves behind her daughter, Donna Marchi Baxter, Donna’s husband, Jeffrey Baxter, a kind friend and companion, Walter Stitt, grandchildren Kirk Baxter and Kristine Baxter-Harmon, and their respective spouses, Lisa Baxter and Larry Harmon, great grandchildren Britney, Carlton and Ian Baxter and Kayla, Erika and Cameron Harmon.
