WILLIAM WELLS PASSES BEYOND
Well Known Insurance Dealer Dies Following Three Years' Illness
William Wells, 64, Insurance dealer and one of the best known men of the city, died today at noon at his home, 200 South Lafayette avenue. He had been in broken health for three years and for the past six months had been confined to his home.
The body is at the Hege and Flanigan funeral home but will be moved home tomorrow noon where the casket will be open to friends. Services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Tabernacle Christian church with the Rev. T.K. Smith in charge. Burial will be made in Garland Brook cemetery.
Mr. Wells was born on a farm west of the city and with exception of a few years in Seymour, spent his entire life here. He had engaged in the Insurance business. He was a member of the Christian church and attended regularly as long as his health permitted.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Harold, of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Jacqueline and William D; four brothers and three sisters, Oscar Wells, of Peru; Kenneth of Terre Haute, Frand and Charles of this city, Walter of Ft. Worth, Mrs. Ralph Kyte, south of the city, Mrs. John Seele, of Connersville, and Mrs. B.V. Allstock of Portsmouth, Ohio.
