He was in the Hardware business and a WWI veteran. He is listed living with his father-in-law at 480 N. 8th St in San Jose in 1920 with his wife and son Kenneth. At the time he was working as a clerk in a General Store. They were still living there in 1930 with their 3 sons, and her father, and he is shown as a clerk in a hardware store.

LEGION CONDUCTS LAST RITES FOR LANE DORR TODAY
Funeral services for Lane M. Dorr, who died Tuesday, will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Curry and Gripenstraw chapel. Services will be conducted by American Legion Post 89. Burial will be in the veterans plot in Oak Hill Cemetery where members of the 91st division will conduct graveside services. Dorr was a native of Chicago, where he was born 40 years ago. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Blanche Dorr; three sons, Kenneth, Milton and John Dorr; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Dorr; two brothers, Ross and Robert Dorr, and a sister, Mrs. Leona Silva. For many years Mr. Dorr was associated with the Farmers Union and the Payne Hardware Co. In his early years he was well known as a baseball player. He was a member of the 364 field artillery, 91st division, during the World War and served overseas. After the close of the war he became a member of the 91st Division Association of San Jose.
