He married Venilia May Hart (dau of Algernon M. Hart and Ann Jane Wilson) between 1870 - 1873. Venilia was born 28 May 1845 in Ohio and died 17 Nov 1909 in Pottawatomie Co, Kansas. Venilia is in the Madison Co, IA 1870 census as the wife of David Wilson. She also later married Amos Vance February 03, 1893 in Havensville, Pottawatomie Co, Kansas.
He and Venilia (Nina) Wilson and had two daughters, Irene Caswell and Jennie Isabelle (Belle) Caswell; William settled with the girls in Sacramento after he and Nina separated.

Jul 14, 1894, Sacramento CA, died Feb 02, 1947
(2) Jennie Isabella (Belle) Caswell - born Dec 15, 1879 in California; died Sept 28, 1966 in Sacramento. Married (1) Walter Cornelius Trefry Dec 31, 1896; (2) Harry Paul LeMay around 1903; (3) Edward O. Ellison after 1915. Belle had two children: Wallace Elbert Trefry, b. Dec 05 1897, d. Dec 30 1983; and Blanche LeMay, b. Jun 07, 1904, d. Jan 08, 1994. As far as can be ascertained, neither Wally or Blanche ever had kids.
