Misc. Notes
Born in the vicinity of Fort Hill, Altamackin, Castle Blayney, County of Armagh, Ireland. Moved to Canada in the spring of 1847 or 1848.
They first located near Kingston, Ontario, then Upper Canada, and after a year or so moved within about two miles of Granton, a village about 8 miles from St. Marys and 20 miles NNW of London, Ontario. All the members of the family younger than John were born there. Sometime before grandfather's death they moved to Palmerston, Ontario, and grandfather died there in 1879 (remembered from old family Bible).
Except for a few of the younger ones, there was about two years between each of the children, and the youngest, Robert Wallace, must have been born Nov. 2, 1860, since he was 17 days younger than my mother. My recollection is that grandfather was 78 or 79 when he died.
There were 14 children of whom one died in early infancy and the remainder all lived well past middle age, most of them living into their 70's.

Misc. Notes
Her parents were James Thomas Dickson and Margaret Anne Wallace. Her father immigrated to Canada in 1853. Family tradition states that three nephews accompanied them, but later returned to Ireland.
She is listed in Palmerston, Ontario in the 1881 census, with her sons John, Andrew, Joseph, David and Robert all of whom are listed as farming. Andrew and his family are next door, and James is not far away with his family.
She lived with her son John from 1882 to 1886 and died the following year. Mary was 73 and she died in Palmerston in 1887 as the result of a fall (although Court records would suggest otherwise, since her death certificate lists cancer as the cause of death).
