He married Dinah Mudge (b. 6 Sep 1759 d. 30 May 1841) on 14 Jan 1784. He was a farmer, clothier and manufacturer of woolens. They settled in Chatham, NY where he was often supervisor, for about 30 years a highly esteemed Justice of the Peace, and for quite a number of years a judge in the County Court. He removed to Dansville, Livingston Co, NY to reside with their youngest son, Samuel Griswold Dorr, where he and his wife both died.
