He studied medicine and settled at Nassau, NY. He married Palsapiana Bull (b. 25 Dec 1783, d. aft 1865) on 21 Mar 1801 and removed to Chatham where he became emminent in his profession. He died of typhoid fever in Burlington, NY while on a visit to his sister (Helena) affected with the same disease of which she died as well. In 1865 his widow was living with her son-in-law, Prof. John Newman at Poultney, VT.
