Mr. Frederick J. Zimmerman (b. 24 Jun 1807 Hagerstown, MD) in 1846 built the house on East Front street, and dwelt therein up to the time of his death. He was married July 7, 1835, to Miss Sarah Colopy, of Mt Vernon. Miss Colopy was born in Virginia. Her parents came to Ohio, and settled in Miller township, and afterwards removed to Mt. Vernon. Seven children were born unto Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman, six of whom are still living. Three reside in this city, one in Jackson, Michigan, one in Chicago, and one in Mt. Holly, this county.
In 1880 she is listed as married (68) but is head of household with just her daughter Rose (26).
