Listed as from Willoughby and daughter of John George Swerdtfeger (1811-1893) & Celicia Snyder (1814-1876) in her marriage record. Her G. grandfather was Rev. Johann Willem Samuel Schwerdtfeger, the first Protestant Lutheran minister in Canada in 1790 who came from Albany and spoke German.
Died of gallstones.

In 1891, they are listed on the same census page as his cousins Melissa and Selina, daughers of his uncle John. He is a farmer (60, US) with wife Charlotte and sons Alfred (30) and his wife Sarah (22), and Samuel (16).
They lived at East Williamsburg a rural community along the St. Lawrence River when he died and was buried at Aultsville.
PLACE: Aultsville, (Stormont Co), Ontario is no longer on the map as it was inundated by the St. Lawrence Seaway in 1958. Their tombstone was moved to the Long Sault Union Cem as a result.
