Mrs. S. G. Wells Dies Of Stroke Aged 75 Years
EAST WILLIAMSBURG - Suffering a stroke a few weeks ago at her home here and removed to the
Iroquois Nursing Home, Mrs. Samuel G. Wells, highly esteemed resident of this place, passed away at that institution. For a time she appeared to be improving and her death came as a shock to her family and friends, although she had not enjoyed the best of health for a number of years.
Born in Gallingertown 75 years ago, she was the former Sarah Olive Hart, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Hart. She was a splendid neighbor, ever ready to help in time of need, and she enJoyed the respect and esteem of everybody who had the pleasure of her acquaintance.
Her husband died two years ago in November. She is survived by two sons and a daughter—Sanford
G. Wells, of Aultsville: Ployd W. Wells, of. Montreal: Mrs. Charles Stansfeld (Edna), of St. Lambert, Que.
She also leaves a brother and four sisters = Charles Hart, Aultsville; Mrs. Charles MacIntosh and Mrs. James Cooper, Cornwall; Mrs: Ida Barr. Aultsville; Mrs. Jennie Ausborne, Proctorsville, Vt.
The funeral took place from her home here on Monday to the cemetery at Aultsville and was attended by many friends of the family. The service was conducted by Mr. R. L. Norman of the United Church, Aultsville: Pall bearers were Ross Hess, Ployd Fisher, Ed. VanAlien, Ewart. Stoddart,
Christopher Summers and Reginald Salmon. Attending the funeral from a distance weré Gordon Wells and Merle Wells, Montreal; Mr. and Mrs. Scanion, Potsdam, N.Y.; Mr. and Mrs. James Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Fred. Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Charles MacIntosh, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Macintosh, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Stephenson, all of Cornwall; Mr. and Mrs. Simon Garlough of Winchester; Mrs. George Eligh, Finch; Bernie Waton, Manitoba.
Relatives and friends placed lovely floral trubutes about the casket, showing the esteem in which Mrs. Wells was held and the sorrow felt at her death.

WELLS Samuel G. Wells, at Hotel Dieu Hospital, Sunday Nov. 27, in his 75th year. The body is resting at bis late residence, East Williamsburg. from where the funeral will take place, Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. Interment in Aultsville cemetery.
Their headstone was moved to Long Sault Union Cem due to construction of the St Lawrence Seaway.
