In 1861, the family consisted of Henry (57) a naturalized Canadian, sons Cornelius (16), Henry (13), John (11), and Charles (8); wife Bridget (47, IRE), and daughters Catherine (18), Mary (16), and Ellen (5).

Henry R. Wells (R?) born in the state of New York on 28 Nov 1805 - moved as a young man to Dundas County and farmed - leaves a widow and 10 living children - 5 girls and 5 boys - the youngest being E.V. Dryer of Garden Hill - he was a Methodist and a liberal.
He was originally buried Aultsville United Church Cem, Aultsville, Ontario, and his headstone was relocated due to construction of the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
