Johnson City - Funeral services for Elden Wells, 73, DeKalb Junction, were held in Johnson City, where Mr. Wells spent the winter months. Burial will be in Crary Mills Cemetery the spring. Mr. Wells died Tuesday, (March 3, 1981) in Ideal-Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, where he had been admitted Monday.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Lena Tower, Johnson City, with whom he spent the winter months; two brothers, Donald, DeKalb Junction, and Maynard of Homer; several nieces and nephews. A brother, Everett, died in 1961.
Mr. Wells was born in the town of Pierrepont, son of Harry and Birdie Crary Wells. He graduated from Canton schools and attended St. Lawrence University. He was a farmer in the Kindred area prior to his retirement in 1976, and worked at the Newell Manufacturing Company in Ogdensburg.
