In 1910 it states that he immigrated to the U.S. in 1892 and was naturalized. So his marriage to Birdia must have been in New York.
Listed as living on Crary Mills Road in 1910.
Harry applied for U.S. citizenship in 1917 and was described as 35 years old, light complexion, 5 ft. 5 inches, 200 lbs, light hair, blue eyes, and was a farmer near Canton, NY. His 1918 WWI Draft registration lists him as Harry Lorne Wells, a plumber married to Birdie and living in Canton. But Harry never took out his final citizenship papers.
Listed in Canton in 1920 selling plumbing in a hardware store, with his wife and children (indexed as Wills).
He is listed in DeKalb in 1930 as a farmer, with his wife since age 22 and his 4 youngest children.
He died in 1951 of heart disease, a common ailment in the Wells family.

Listed as Bertha in 1910 census, and Berdia on her headstone. In 1947 her sisters were Mrs. Ira Bullis and Mrs. Marion Bullis.

Mrs. Berdia Wells, 71 Dies Friday Morning
DeKalb — Mrs. Berdie Wells, 71, widow of Harry Wells, died suddenly at 12:30 a.m. Friday at the home of her son, Eldon Wells, Ritchie road. Mrs. Wells had been in usual health. Death was attributed to cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs Wells was bom September 25, 1881 the daughter of George and Julia Clark Crary in the town of Pierrepont. In 1903, she married Harry Wells, at Crary Mills. Mr. Wells died in October, 1951. Mrs. Wells was a member of Kendrew Methodist church and the Ladies Aid society.
Surviving are: Four sons, Everett of Rensselaer Falls; Maynard of Preble; Eldon at home, and Donald of DeKalb; one daughter, Lena of Johnson City; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Bullis and Mrs. Carrie Bullis of Canton; one brother, George Crary of Massachussetts and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Don Wells, Ritchie road. The Rev. Frank Brown of Rensselaer Falls officiated. Burial was made at Crary Mills cemetery.
