Misc. Notes
Everett Absolbum Wells registered for the WW1 Draft in 1918, and said that he was born 31 Jul 1897; probably a fabrication in order to make him old enough for the Army.
He was married at the age of 21 to Lucille M. "Lottie" Minick. They were living in Coyle, OK in 1930, both working as High School teachers. Lucille was also listed as age 26, b. in Oklahoma, but other records indicate she was born 1901 in Iowa. She died in 1932.
He is then listed in 1940 as a Custodial Officer (36, OK) at the Federal Reformatory in El Reno, OK. With him is his second wife Lottie L. Fain (32, OK). It lists both of them as having completed 4 yrs of college.
Shelley Vaughn (descendant of sister Cristina) has some pictures, his high school diploma, and a commemorative medallion for his service at the Federal Reformatory in El Reno, OK. The photo ID card with the medallion lists his title as Junior Officer and is dated January 15, 1942.
Everett was cremated and his ashes later placed in the casket of his sister, Christine Wells Vaughn when she passed - in Oak Hill Cem, Grand Rapids, Kent Co, MI.
