Stanton married Hortense Holmes of Cleveland. - a German Protestant and an Irish Catholic girl. They had 5 children; sons - Robert Stanton Weegar (1922) and Richard Paul (ca 1927) and three daughters.
Son Robert Stanton married Dorothy Lowden of Nelsonville OH in 1944 and had five kids - Christine Weegar Glantz, Mark Robert Weegar, Eric Lawrence Weegar, Elaine Weegar Bailey and Monica Weegar Jeffrey. They moved to Atlanta in 1957 and have been very happy as Southeners.
Son Richard Paul married and had children: Susan Marion, Paul Richard, Elizabeth Jane, Matthew Holmes, and Andrew Kimbal.
