By 1940, he was working as a mail carrier (23, IN) at the Post Office, just like his father, and still living at home.
He married Camilla Keogh on 4 Oct 1943 in Indianapolis. They had no children. He entered the military 24 Nov 1941.
2nd Lt. Wells was a tank commander in the 4th Armored Div and killed by a sniper’s bullet as he was advancing with Gen. George Patton’s army in Germany. He was killed on Easter Sunday. He had previously received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and had seen extensive action around Metz and Bastogne.
