[Obituary] 12 March 1952
... Born in Circleville, OH. Mrs. Wells was brought to Indianapolis as a small infant. Her grandparents had come to this country from Ireland, and, because of an unpleasant six-week trip across the ocean, had kept a vow never to go back.
Mrs. Wells’ hobby was flowers, and she was a familiar figure to neighbors and passers-by as she worked among the flowers in her yard.
Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Mary Reed, Wormsley, PA; Mrs. Genevieve Gorsline, Logansport; and Mrs. Bertha Schrader, Mrs. Lillian Ishler, and Mrs. Nellie Dunn, Indianapolis; M-Sgt Theodore Wells with the air wing of the National Guard at St. Louis, MO; and Harold Wells, New York and 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
One grandson, Sgt. Theodore Wells Jr. is now in Okinawa, another Pfc. Robert Reed, has returned to this country after a year in Korea, where he was wounded after partipating in four major battles.
