She taught at the Pape Avenue School in Toronto for 30 years. After the death of her father in 1931, Minnie cared for her mother until her death in 1949. On 9 Nov 1951 she married Elon Norman "Rufus" Isaac (14 Aug 1882-18 May 1975), whom she had known for many years; and went to live on his farm near Fenelon Falls, Ontario.
