Living in Anderson with his parents in 1900 and 1910. He registered for the WWI Draft in 1917 while working as a clerk for an electric company in Madison Co, IN, and listed himself as physically unfit.
He subsequently enlisted on 11 Dec 1917, and served until 30 Dec 1919 as Jack Wells, which is how all subsequent records are recorded.
He is listed in Los Angeles in 1930 as Jack Wells (36, IN) a clerk in an auto accessories store, married 6 yrs to Birdie (29, MD), with son Ward (3, CA). Same info with them being 10 yrs older in 1940, where Jack is working as a driver for Studio transportation.
His WWII Draft registration lists him simply as Jack Wells, wife Birdie, and living in Burbank, CA; which confirms his birth date and location.
